Spider Pocket Pillow Tutorial

I decided the front porch needed some spider pillows to go with my giant web. I made some quick pocket pillows out of some cheap muslin.  Since I had 15 inch pillow forms, I cut out three 16 inch squares.

Front
Back
To make the back, take two 16 inch squares and fold each about 1/3 over and then overlap. Pin in place.  It should measure 16 inches. Does that make sense? Then just sew right sides together and then stick the pillow form into the pocket.
I'm sick of sewing new pillows all the time, so I thought instead I would just sew a panel that I could change out w/ buttons.  For each, I cut an 11 inch square and finished the edges.  Then I cut out spider shapes and ironed them on w/ fusible webbing.  For details, I attached little pearls for eyes and embroidered white "webs" lines

Can you see my tiny white lines?

Here's the porch sporting it's new makeover.

  2. I love this concept of buttoning on an apron to the front of the pillow - you can change it for every season!
