Craft room preview-what to do w/ all our books

BEFORE
Our Family owns a lot of books.  A lot. Most of them hang out in our craft room/ study.  I decided they would look nicer if I organized them into groups and placed little vignettes on top (click here to read more about that).  I organized them into religious (worship), fiction (read), and non-fiction (explore). I think is looks way better.
The biggest difference is that I covered up that boring white wall-such an improvement! Dutch Boy asked if I'd like to review their paint-of course I said yes. I'm giving it 2 thumbs up and here's why:

They sent me some Refresh paint.  I noticed two things right away, first of all it didn't stink like most paint and I love that is has zero VOCs so I know it is safe for my family.

Not only doesn't it smell like paint, but this paint will actually eliminate odors (see how it works here) in my home.  I wish I would have used it in my boy's bathroom-that room sure could use some of it's odors being eliminated.

I also love the container-it is genius and so much better than a can.  It is easy to open and close, but my favorite thing about it is that it is easy to pour and instead of paint dripping all over the side of the can it drips back inside the can-genius!

I used the color, "flickering flame".  The last time I painted a wall yellow, I had to do about 10 coats to get the paint to look even. For the most part, I only needed one full coat and then just had to go back a touch-up a few spots I missed.

To make this review balanced, I feel like I should add something negative, but I honestly have nothing negative to say.  I loved the design of the paint can, it is safe for my family, and it covered well in one coat.

I've got some really fun ideas for the rest of the room, including a fun paint treatment that I will post in a few weeks so stay tuned.

  2. It looks fabulous! We are drowning in books around these parts and I'm still trying to figure out what I'm doing with all of them. Love the yellow as well! One of my favorite colors!

  6. We have had the SAME issue. It befuddles us how to store books... Especially when almost everything is available via the internet... But I like to feel the pages and what not.
Thanks for linking up to Making It With Allie this week! I can't wait to see what you have for next week!
