I cut 1/2 wide strips of paper into 6, 9 and 12 inches.
Then I folded each strip in the middle and threaded a very thin wire through the middle, and a bead on the bottom.
Starting with the smallest strip, I glued the top to each strip to form a heart. Then I twisted the bottom of the wire around a pencil and the top wire into a heart shape.
Here it is hanging out on my fireplace.
I wanted to do some sort of banner, but then I thought that I would apply the vinyl directly to the mantle. The girls in the house thought it was very cool and fun. The boys (including my husband) thought it was just plain weird and that I should take it down immediately. Thoughts?
I love the choice of quotation...classic romance!
ReplyDeleteI think it is cool, and you could change the quote as you wanted. I wish I had a spot like that!
ReplyDeleteLove, love love it! The quote is beautiful - I love 'The Princess Bride', total fave film evah! x
ReplyDeleteI think it's cute!
ReplyDeleteSo I guess all of you that think it's weird are just too polite to say :)
ReplyDeleteTruth, love the heart shapes, bushier branches would perhaps take away what
ReplyDeleteyou are seeing as weird.
Well, boys probably don't love Wesley like us girls do . . . but I dream of the day my husband says these words to me. I vote leave it up!!!
ReplyDeleteI love it... but, I too, am a "girl"- perhaps you need to be "male" to think it's weird :)
ReplyDeleteI agree, too, I like it!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how the opinions of the guys and the gals always differ. I love it. Thanks for sharing it at our party!!
ReplyDeleteThe Valentine's ornaments are really cute. I love your mantel display!
ReplyDeleteI think it has potential - maybe try spray painting the branches and include more of them!
ReplyDeleteYour mantel looks great! I love it!
ReplyDeleteI like it. I think the valentines tree looks like a pretty mobile.
ReplyDeleteI love your tree with the hearts. The first time I put vinyl on the wall it almost killed my boyfriend, he thought it was permanent and would never come off!
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's weird at all! I love "artsy" things like that. Good job!!
ReplyDeleteI like the vinyl and I love the tree!!! :) Thanks for linking up!!!
ReplyDeleteI think it's adorable. I wish our mantel was lighter so we could put vinyl on it! How clever. Thanks for linking up!
ReplyDeleteLove the quote!! Thanks for linking up at Feathered Nest Friday!
ReplyDeleteSo darling. AND inexpensive - bonus! Thank you so much for linking this project to Fabulous Friday.
ReplyDeleteWarmly, Michelle
Love your mantle! It's adorable :)
ReplyDeleteI'm determined to have "As you wish" somewhere in my house..and probably a dumbledore quote too. Love it!
